Southern Concrete Materials is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Block Yard Laborer to support daily block yard operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the block yard, assisting with block forms and resale materials, unloading and stocking materials, mixing color as needed, and helping ensure a safe and organized work area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate mixer truck movement safely in and around the block yard.
  • Maintain the block yard, including block and form counts, form assembly and breakdown, and general housekeeping.
  • Assist mixer drivers with the blocking process to help reduce turnaround time.
  • Unload materials and stock the resale warehouse and block yard items.
  • Safely operate equipment such as a forklift or loader, as assigned and authorized.
  • Mix color as needed and complete other duties as assigned.
  • ·Follow company safety, communication, and compliance procedures, including confined space, lock-out/tag-out, and fall protection requirements.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two to three years of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CDL-B license preferred, but not required.
  • Forklift and/or loader experience preferred.
  • Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to communicate effectively with drivers, coworkers, and management.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift 50 or more pounds.
  • Must be able to perform physical labor and follow all required safety procedures.

Schedule:
This is a full-time position, generally Monday through Friday. Occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required based on business needs.
