Summary/Objective:
Sells ready mix concrete and construction materials in the commercial and NCDOT business segments according to company guidelines as directed by the Vice President/Regional Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Maintain, strengthen, and develop new relationships with our customer base.
- Research projects that are coming out to bid through available resources, working in conjunction with technical review to bid and procure work.
- Collaborate with SCM personnel in the field to support project success.
- Maintain sales reports, such as a backlog to track and forecast work.
- Participate in productive, informative sales meetings to include communication with all SCM departments as necessary.
- Become familiar with our software systems as they pertain to production and quality control.
- Develop a working knowledge of technical specifications and industry trends.
- Conduct effective contract negotiations for prospective projects.

- Must be discreet, as the position requires the handling of confidential information
- Good computer operating skills (general Windows applications)
- Must possess excellent math skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and team-building skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to resolve customer issues while protecting company interests
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
- Office environment and in a vehicle.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work long and flexible hours as necessary
- Must be able to maneuver in and around our plants, yards, and jobsites as necessary
- Must be able to work through stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and composure
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.
- Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
- As required to perform job duties.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three to five years of experience. These experiences should be gained in areas of outside sales, preferably in the ready-mix industry
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- NRMCA Professional Sales Certification is desired.
- NCDOT Concrete Certifications are desired.
- Valid driver’s license. This position requires extensive traveling throughout the sales territory
